Did you know that heart disease kills one woman approximately every 80 seconds, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined, and cardiac events are on the rise in young women in their 20s? (1) February is American Heart Month and Friday, February 5th is National Wear Red Day®. The American Heart Association encourages you to wear red and donate for their signature movement – Go Red for Women® If you are working from home, you can still raise awareness by wearing red for your video calls, on your walk, or by posting a picture in your favorite red outfit with the tags #WearRedDay, #HeartMonth and #GoRedforWomen.
Take care of your heart because it never rests. Go for a walk. Take an online yoga class. Maintain a healthy weight. Quit smoking. Eat more heart-healthy foods like leafy greens, avocados, whole grains, berries, black or green teas, olive oil, fish, and beans. Eat less sugar, red meat, saturated fats, etc. Please visit here to learn more and to donate: https://www.heart.org/en
